This Lahm tackle comes to mind. I remember seeing that tackle and thinking that Bayern were going to be unstoppable under Pep. It was like the perfect storm of the high intensity press of Heynckes mixed with the possession based football of Peps Barcelona side. Lahm intercepts the breakaway counter, slide tackles, retains possession and passes the ball back into the opposing half resuming the pressure that Bayern were keeping.
EDIT: After looking for a better gif of the tackle I came across this video. That sliding hook tackle must be his special move.

Lahm is a "fancy" slide tackler. He knicks the ball with just his foot so often. Almost all of his tackles look like they go exactly how he thought they would in his head.
You could write an entire book about his tackles.
And finally, my personal favorite:
Haha the final one, lewandowskis body language is priceless.
Is the first tackle the one against City? The gif doesn't work.
One of my favourites: agains Jesus Navas in CL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ-ZSmGNPCA Oh my god! What was Navas thinking "Ok, I'm much faster than he, it's not a problem for me..... ohhh maaaaan"
I think if there would be an university of football Lahm and Kompany should be a Defence Professors.
这贴Philipp Lahm's slide tackle vs Jesús Navas的讨论也很好玩，很多梗原来不止虎扑网友爱用，reddit网友也爱用……
Just in case anyone forgot he is the best right back in the world.
I still don't know how I should feel about him playing as DM. Especially since Löw said he wants to try the same thing for the national team and we don't have an adequate replacement for right back.
If Löw seriously does that he would have to be completely mental. We already lack 1 good full-back, if he takes Lahm away from that position it's gonna be even worse. Sure, if he really wants to he can try it in friendlies, but if we're coming home from the world cup empty handed again because of something silly like this...
Yeah, it's been pointed out in the past that Germany's best right back, and best left back, are unfortunately the same person.
If we add defensive midfielder to that list it starts getting embarrassing!
I'd say the world's best left back and right back are the same person.
Guardiola said yesterday in german tv:
"If I give Lahm the job as a striker tomorrow, he would be the best striker in Europe from tomorrow on because he is such an intelligent player. And I mean that totally serious."
Thats it! HE brought it upon himself!
In the next Bundesliga game that isnt vs one of the few threatening teams (Borussia, Schalke, etc) I want to see Lahm as a striker!
You cant say things like that unless youre ready to deliver Mr. Guardiola!!
In this video Pep also talks about what he thinks makes Lahm such an intelligent player. It's quite interresting
"Philipp Lahm, you've said is one of the most intelligent players you've ever worked with"
"He understands the game..."
"The others don't?"
"No, don't. A lot of players understand his position so well. Philipp can play in all positions. That shows me how intelligent he is. Football is a game and people move and you have to decide in 1 second on what's going on in your position and all around the field. And he decides the right moment you must run."
Pep seems to love little Lahm
That's Neuers chance. Convince Pep that Lahm could also play as goalkeeper and take his new spot in the midfield.
Suddenly, Neuer next Messi.
Why? Neuer already play in midfield. ;)
5. Something of a Phillip Lahm trademark, the reverse slide tackle is a way of regaining possession in spectacular style. Lahm has Rakitic’s number here.
